Beckett Simonon Hoyt Monk Strap Review

beckett simonon hoyt monk strap review

Not gonna lie: I have a soft spot for monk straps. Sure, they’re not as formal as oxfords, and you don’t see them worn as often. But if you get yourself a sweet pair, you can pull them off with just about any outfit.

Beckett Simonon just sent me their Hoyt monk strap dress shoes. Get PRAKTICALA’s take by reading the Beckett Simonon Hoyt monk strap review below! And don’t forget to use our exclusive promo cod PRAKTICALA20 for 20% off your order!

Morakniv Pro S Fixed Blade Knife Review

morakniv pro s fixed blade knife reviewI might have a new favorite camp knife.

For everyday carry, I’m still going to pocket one of my folding knives, like the Kershaw Skyline. They’re portable, low profile, and great for incidental cutting and slicing.

But in a camp setting, where it will get used dozens of times a day, in higher-stress applications? I’m pretty much hooked on my Morakniv Craftline Pro S Allround fixed blade. Read our Morakniv Pro S fixed blade knife review to find out why!

Giro Savant MIPS Helmet Review

giro savant mips helmet review

Since getting back into cycling a couple of years ago, I’ve been spending much more time on two wheels. I finally determined it was appropriate to get a new helmet to match my dedication.

My previous bike helmet lasted me almost 10 years. I intended my next one to last me the same – barring, God forbid, any accidents.

After much research, I decided on the Giro Savant MIPS helmet. Continue reading our Giro Savant MIPS helmet review below!

Poseidon Atlas Review – Hybrid Bike!

poseidon atlas review

Now that summer is kicking into full gear, I’ve been logging more miles on the bike. In addition to the Poseidon Triton review I posted recently, I also have a new Poseidon Atlas review for you too!

While I’ve been strictly road biking for the last few years, Poseidon hooked me up with their hybrid bike, the Atlas, to take for a spin.

The Atlas offers a totally different, but fun new experience. Check out our Poseidon Atlas review below!

Poseidon Triton Review – Updated Road Bike!

poseidon triton reviewBack in 2016, Poseidon impressed PRAKTICALA with the Poseidon Bike 4.0, an enthusiast-level road bike at an entry-level price.

Since then, Poseidon updated their bike with improved geometry and expanded colors while still retaining their value pricing. We were finally able to grab one for road testing. Check out our full Poseidon Triton review below!

New Venture: Bakersfield Real Estate Investment

bakersfield real estate investment
4 bed / 1.75 bath, 2,113 sq ft. Built 1928.

PRAKTICALA is excited to announce its latest venture, a Bakersfield real estate investment property!

We picked up this property in downtown Bakersfield, CA, late last year. It had great bones and a fantastic floor plan, but was in serious need of updating and repairs. I decided it was the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for DIY projects and my jack-of-all-trades disposition.

Fast forward a few months, and the project is up and ready for sale!

The transformation is incredible. Check out more photos below!

Dawes Lightning DLX Review – Entry Level Road Bike!

dawes lightning dlx review

My current ride is a legit Motobecane LeChampion CF, but not every cyclist is serious enough (yet) to drop a grand (or more) on a bike. The very cool Poseidon bike, which I reviewed here, is one alternative. (EDIT: I’ve also reviewed the Poseidon Triton, their updated road bike.)

I recently obtained an even more affordable bike, the Dawes Lightning DLX. While not flashy by any means, this solid road bike provides excellent bang for buck as either a casual ride or an entry into the world of road biking. Read the full Dawes Lightning DLX review below!
