Poseidon Atlas Review – Hybrid Bike!

poseidon atlas review

Now that summer is kicking into full gear, I’ve been logging more miles on the bike. In addition to the Poseidon Triton review I posted recently, I also have a new Poseidon Atlas review for you too!

While I’ve been strictly road biking for the last few years, Poseidon hooked me up with their hybrid bike, the Atlas, to take for a spin.

The Atlas offers a totally different, but fun new experience. Check out our Poseidon Atlas review below!

Kershaw Cryo Review (EDC Knife)

kershaw cryo review

Summer is coming, and you know what that means… camping!

While it’s always a good idea to carry a knife on you at all times as part of your everyday carry, spending time on the trail this Memorial Day gives you all the more reason to start packing a blade.

We recently reviewed the Kershaw Skyline knife, which we contend is an excellent choice for EDC. The Kershaw Cryo 1555TI, while very different, also makes a great option, especially for first-timers. Check out our Kershaw Cryo review below!

Poseidon Triton Review – Updated Road Bike!

poseidon triton reviewBack in 2016, Poseidon impressed PRAKTICALA with the Poseidon Bike 4.0, an enthusiast-level road bike at an entry-level price.

Since then, Poseidon updated their bike with improved geometry and expanded colors while still retaining their value pricing. We were finally able to grab one for road testing. Check out our full Poseidon Triton review below!

Bryton Rider 310 Review – Budget GPS Bike Computer!

bryton rider 310 review

EDIT: I’ve since tested the Bryton Rider 410 and the Bryton Rider 420! Read those reviews here, and here. Also: Read our review of the new Bryton Rider 750 here!

For cyclists, a bike computer not only tracks your route, but compiles ride data to help you train and improve.

Unfortunately, a basic Garmin costs upwards of a hundred bucks – even more if it performs anything beyond rudimentary tasks. For the budget-conscious layperson, it can be hard to justify that expense for an activity that is supposed to be, you know, free.

A company called Bryton offers much less expensive GPS bike computers than the big-name competition. But are they any good? Check out our Bryton Rider 310 review below!

New Venture: Bakersfield Real Estate Investment

bakersfield real estate investment
4 bed / 1.75 bath, 2,113 sq ft. Built 1928.

PRAKTICALA is excited to announce its latest venture, a Bakersfield real estate investment property!

We picked up this property in downtown Bakersfield, CA, late last year. It had great bones and a fantastic floor plan, but was in serious need of updating and repairs. I decided it was the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for DIY projects and my jack-of-all-trades disposition.

Fast forward a few months, and the project is up and ready for sale!

The transformation is incredible. Check out more photos below!

Dawes Lightning DLX Review – Entry Level Road Bike!

dawes lightning dlx review

My current ride is a legit Motobecane LeChampion CF, but not every cyclist is serious enough (yet) to drop a grand (or more) on a bike. The very cool Poseidon bike, which I reviewed here, is one alternative. (EDIT: I’ve also reviewed the Poseidon Triton, their updated road bike.)

I recently obtained an even more affordable bike, the Dawes Lightning DLX. While not flashy by any means, this solid road bike provides excellent bang for buck as either a casual ride or an entry into the world of road biking. Read the full Dawes Lightning DLX review below!
