Eat: Krispy Kreme Triple Decker Burger at the OC Fair

This past weekend I was forced to had the privilege of taking my new cousins to Costa Mesa to see the Fifth Harmony concert at the OC Fair.

The kind-of good news is that I got to try this crazy thing – a triple decker burger with Krispy Kreme doughnuts in place of regular buns.

#dieyoung

I asked if I could get it with just one patty. They said I could, but I would still have to pay the full price. What the. This darned thing set me back 11 bucks.

As I walked back to my table with this monstrosity in hand I garnered the stares of several envious bystanders. They all made comments about how crazy it looked and how badass I was. At least I think that’s what they were saying.

I dumped some ketchup and mayo into the burger and sank my teeth into the unholy mess. It fell apart pretty quickly.

Don’t try this at home.

Bottom line: Pretty good, mainly because of the beef. The Krispy Kremes are mostly a side note. All in all, I’d prefer to eat a regular burger next time. I will surely miss the years it shaved off my life.

Plenty of other fun stuff to do at the OC Fair, though. Pig racing, ice sculptures, and more!

What activities would you recommend at the fair? Let us know!

Review: Carter Wingtip Boots by Jack Erwin

I got these Carter wingtip combat boots from Jack Erwin a while ago and gave them a good test run. I wear them to work or school when I have to ride the motorcycle.

Bradley’s 1st Birthday

PRAKTICALA had a great time shooting Bradley’s 1st birthday party a few weeks back for our good friends Paul and Juna! Activities included cake-eating, hanging out with friends, a tractor ride, lots of farm animals, and that hilarious Korean let-the-baby-pick-their-present game!

Really cool dog!

This game is hilarious. Korean people put all these presents in front of the kid to see which one he or she will choose. Whichever present gets chosen is apparently somehow indicative of what the kid will grow up to be. Or something. I don’t know anything about this world; Chinese people don’t celebrate birthdays.

Will he be good at cooking, art, sports, or Counter-Strike???

Happy Prime Day at Amazon!

Today is PRIME DAY at Amazon.com, celebrating the company’s 20th anniversary. To reward Prime members, they are offering a lot of great deals on a variety of products across different categories, including clothing, home improvement, movies, games, and more.

One great deal I found is on Ray-Ban sunglasses – if you are a Prime member, Amazon will take 30% off the price at checkout! I picked up the Wayfarer sunglasses (link) but they have many other models and colors available.

Another good deal is the Fitbit HR, a fitness tracker that measures your physical activity, heart rate, and more. For Prime Day, Amazon is including $25 in Amazon credit. I have the Fitbit Flex which is pretty nifty too.

Additionally, if you use your Amazon Visa card and spend over $100, you can take another $20 off with the promo code PRI20ARC!

Lots of great deals today, check them out!

Scam: Beats by Dre Headphones

Any audiophile will already know that Beats by Dre headphones are garbage. But for the rest of consumers who pay out the nose for these inflated status symbols, here’s proof that’s a little more accessible to the budget-conscious layperson.

According to Gizmodo, not only are Beats’ headphones cheaply made, with glue (instead of screws) and off-the-shelf components, but they even contain useless metal weights, put there for the sole purpose of making the product seem heavier and more “premium.”

These glorified Playskool headphones are then sold to the public at insane prices. The public then wears them to school, on the bus, and at the gym, in a sad attempt to appear cool, not realizing they actually look like complete saps for blowing their hard-earned money (or their parents’) on headphones that are no better than the ones that came free with my Sandisk MP3 player twenty years ago.

Don’t get suckered by this scam! You can read more at Gizmodo, as well as the original detailed report from Popular Mechanics.

Deal: Black & Decker 20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Drill Kit

Freakin’ beautiful.

OMG. Amazon has a lightning deal right now on the Black & Decker 20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Drill Kit.

I bought a very similar Black & Decker 20-volt cordless drill from the local hardware store just a month or two ago for the same price, except it was for the drill ONLY. This kit comes with a zillion drill bits and accessories. NOT FAIR.

It is an awesome drill, I’ve used it for a ton of projects around the house already, including the oak bed frame I built recently. There are endless uses for it and it has plenty of power. I only wish I had waited for a smoking deal like this one. ARGH!

Only a few hours left to grab it at this price. Get it on Amazon here, then laugh at me for getting ripped off.

EDIT: If you want the drill ONLY, Amazon has a $10 off promo on it right now (click here). Add it to your cart and you’ll see the discount at checkout. This is way cheaper than what I bought it for. Darn.

Watch KUNG FURY Now for Free!

This is too cool not to share!

Director David Sandberg shot a short film, KUNG FURY, after successfully acquiring funding through Kickstarter’s fundraising platform.

Sandberg and his team managed to make the 30-minute film for just a little over $630,000. It features time travel, giant robots, Lamborghinis, tyrannosaurs, kung fu fighting Hitler, and more.

It’s a silly homage to action films of the 80s, with awesome music, bad dialogue/acting, and cheesy special effects. Very entertaining!

After debuting at Cannes, KUNG FURY made its way onto the internet, for free! Check it out below:
